Program

The first hour will describe how Social Security disability works; the requirements for receiving disability; why Social Security disability should be considered in Workers' Compensation cases, Personal Injury cases, Alimony and Custody cases.

 

The second hour will discuss ethical issues of Social Security disability, including whether an attorney has a duty to discuss Social Security disability with their clients; when to have that discussion; what information the attorney needs to disclose when applying for disability benefits; what problems the client may encounter if he or she applies for both disability benefits and unemployment benefits.
